Yeah, frame rates would change sometimes especially depending on the canvas size. It rounded to 1/20th of a pixel.

True story - I was briefly head of the London Flash Developers User Group. It was late in the war, Adobe had surrounded us, poisoned the media against us, deliberately crippled the iPhone to feed their greed and despicable walled garden - but then Brendan Eich offered a glimmer of hope - an open source flash emulator.

And they he got cancelled for hating gay people. So that was the end of that.

I wanted to give a shoutout to the Flashpoint Archive who are archiving and curating all the SWFs (and similar things that needed a browser plugin back in the day). Of course it has AYBABTU! They have a desktop client for Windows and half-assed desktop clients for macOS and Linux, but anything in the archive that's Flash can be played on the web thanks to Ruffle; the database search of the archive gives a "Play at 9o3o" link

that is remarkably cleaner! Suddenly it's 2001. In less than 7 meg! Good job.

Ah, wish I'd known it was the anniversary! A few years ago I made an Etch-a-Sketch version of All Your Base that's the most ambitious Etch-a-Sketch project I've tackled.

Back when I first started going online, I would get all of my fads and image macros a few years late, since I didn't know about any of the cool websites where you'd get them fresh out of the oven. This is a situation I don't think exists anymore, because things do not percolate so much as they ricochet at Mach 2 and become old-meme by the end of the day.

But back then, it still made you cool, and so I am accordingly proud, to have first seen All Your Base and We Drink Ritalin in 2004.
